Can you share a brief overview of Genuwine Cellars’ history and your experience in the industry?

Genuwine Cellars is Robb Denomme’s story. He founded the company in 1995 at just 17 years old, building the first cellar out of a garage. One project became two, and over 30 years, Genuwine has grown into a global leader in luxury custom wine cellars. We’ve completed projects in every U.S. state and in places as far as Beijing, Thailand, and Haiti. I’ve been with Genuwine for 12 years, and what stands out most is how personal every project is; each cellar has a story and reflects a client’s passion for wine.

Do you use local teams and materials when building cellars abroad?

No. Our red-seal carpenters, true artisans, build, deliver, and install every project themselves. The same hands that craft the cellar install it on-site to maintain precision. We transport everything in our own fleet for full control. Materials are selected for their performance and quality, not geography. Over 30 years, we’ve mastered which materials and finishes perform best in controlled environments.

What inspired the focus on bespoke luxury cellars?

Clients often struggled piecing together cellars from multiple vendors, leading to issues like condensation or mold. We solved that by offering a complete turnkey service, from concept to climate control, with a lifetime warranty. It’s a seamless process that ensures both performance and beauty.

Can you highlight a few landmark or high-profile projects?

Our portfolio includes cellars for Universal Studios’ new Epic Universe park, the CN Tower, the Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, the Palazzo Hotel, and Walt Disney World’s upcoming 2026 restaurant project. We’ve also built for private clients like the founder of GoPro, the creator of Apple’s Siri, and members of the Coca-Cola family.

What does your process look like from first contact to completion?

Most projects start with a call or email. After an initial consultation and design brief, we present 3D renderings with materials and lighting details within about a week. Once approved, the project moves through CAD, fabrication, and installation. Each custom wine cellar is built to millimeter precision and installed by our in-house team. The entire process typically takes around six months.

What differentiates Genuwine’s approach from others?

We don’t use prefabricated systems or outsource components. Every detail is custom: Design, cooling, glass, lighting, and fit. Clients value that we never say “No.” Whether it’s a 40,000-bottle commercial wine cellar or a 100-bottle private display, we treat each with the same craftsmanship and commitment. “Everything is possible” is how we always operate.

How do you tailor designs to individual clients?

We start by understanding their space, storage needs, and lifestyle. Some want modern glass; others want classic wood. We’ve even integrated personal elements like a racetrack design for a professional driver’s cellar. Every detail, from bottle display to circulation flow, is customized while ensuring functionality and proper climate control.

What challenges do you typically face?

Education is key. Many clients love the aesthetic of cellars but don’t understand the technical side: Humidity, temperature, insulation, or expansion planning for their collection. We guide them through all of it. The main obstacle is when clients reach out too late in their home build, which adds complexity and cost. Early collaboration solves that.

What makes Genuwine Cellars distinct in the luxury market?

Our difference lies in craftsmanship, control, and service. We combine design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation under one roof, delivering unmatched quality and precision. We show up prepared, professional, and focused on saying “yes” to every creative challenge.
