Sommelier Select

Sommelier Select Custom Wine Cellars

“Hand-selected, hand-finished, superior quality custom wine racking and millwork”

Sommelier Select is the original Genuwine Cellars gold standard wine racking series. It built the reputation of the company as the premier producer of high-end, fully custom, fine-furniture-grade wine cellar racking and accoutrements.

Sommelier Select represents the pinnacle of custom, luxury wood wine cellar construction. Our best materials, our best craftsmanship, our best execution. All of the wood for our wine racking and wine-cellar-tailored-millwork is hand-selected (less than 30% of our wood supplies meets Sommelier Select’s exacting standards), hand-sanded and hand-finished. The result is always a luxurious, polished wine cellar both traditional and classically contemporary.

Sommelier Select offers an extensive and fully custom library of dramatic features, enhancements and finishing touches.

We offer over ten wine-cellar-approved premium and exotic wood species, multiple finishing options and a host of other enhancements including tasting displays, cabinets, tasting tables, decorative counters and more. Of course, if there is something you like but do not see, we can incorporate it into any design provided that we can determine that the desired material and/or finish is wine-cellar-safe and will not damage your collection.

Each Sommelier Select wine cellar is crafted to be unique, and of the thousands of Sommelier Select wine cellars we have created, no two are exactly alike.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can you match a current crown/base moulding profile I have in the rest of my house?

Yes. Depending on the complexity of the moulding, dimensioned drawings of the requested moulding and/or a physical sample of the moulding may be required. Additional charges will be added for the creation of custom knives.

  2. What is the recommended counter height in Sommelier Select?

Recommended counter height is between 34 ½” to 37”.  We can accommodate any height as requested.

  3. I have a ceiling height over 10 feet. Can Sommelier Select fit this height?

Yes. As most Sommelier Select wine cellar designs use counters to separate the upper and lower racking, a standard 3-foot counter height combined with 8-feet of upper racking will reach 11 feet. Full height racking without the use of a counter may also be possible depending on wood sizes available for each material type. Racking higher than 11 feet is also possible. Please inquire.

  4. Can you include metal components in the design?

Yes. Sommelier Select is a completely custom product.
